I am of Norwegian and Scottish Ancestry. One day I would love to travel to the countries of my ancestors. I have holidayed in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. I have been a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years and I especially love working with families from other cultures. I feel very passionate about ECE and how it makes children ready for smooth transition to school. I have one very special daughter Kim, who is a secondary school science teacher.

Assalaamu Alaykum (Peace be with you), I am fortunate and privileged to be a constituent of the full-time teaching-team at the first Muslim Kindergarten in New Zealand for the past three years, Alhamdullilah (Praise be to Allah).
I am an overseas-trained, qualified and experienced primary school teacher from Cape Town, South Africa, who immigrated to Wellington, New Zealand, with my family about five years ago. My past work experiences included working for many years with people of different races, cultures, religions and nationalities, in the fields of nursing, teaching and retail-administrative management. I have also recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education course to upgrade my knowledge and skills in the Early Childhood Education sector.
I am passionate about teaching, love working with people, especially children, have a keen interest to broaden my knowledge and experiences in the teaching-profession, become a dynamic-teacher, and be of greater service to the community, Inshallah (As Allah wills).
I look forward to meet you, your child/ren and family.

Kia Ora! Assalaam Alaikum! (Peace Be Upon You) ... I come from the Philippines. I imigrated to New Zealand in the year 2000 with my family. I have three adult children, two of them married and with children. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in the Philippines. In May 2007, I graduated from Victoria University, Wellington College of Education with a Graduate Diploma of Teaching Early Childhood Education.
I deem myself lucky to be part of this first Muslim learning centre in Wellington. I started working at Haleema Kindergarten as a reliever when it opened in 2010. After a year I became a full time permanent teacher. As a teacher in this Muslim learning community, I am privileged to be in a career where there's a chance to make a real difference in children's lives ...
To everyone in Haleema Kindergarten, children and their families, teaching staff and the members of the Haleema Trust -
Mabuhay Kayo!

Assalaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatulah Wa Barakatuh! Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, my family and I immigrated to New Zealand 15 years ago. Before completing my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) at Victoria University Wellington, I was a qualified Chef, working in the hospitality industry. I am pleased to be a part of the team at Haleema Kindergarten, and I am happy to have the opportunity to work in an Islamic environment.

I have been working for Haleema Kindergarten since 2012, first as a volunteer, then as a teacher aide. I am currently studying for an ECE qualification with Workforce Development.
I am a mother of two children. My daughter is also attending Haleema Kindergarten. I am a person that is willing to put up with hardship to succeed and to help others. I am a team player and I enjoy being creative and having fun. I am always sensitive to people's culture and the belief of fair play ... Kia ora!
