Assalam Alaikum

Welcome to Haleema Kindergarten website

Haleema Kindergarten opened in 2010 as a result of the need for an Islamic education centre. The name Haleema means gentle or mild mannered. This is the basis of our teaching. We have a licence for 40 children from the age of 2 to 5 years old. Children can be placed on our waiting list at any time up to the age of 5 years old. A child can start at 2 years old. Our session times are: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm (this is when the younger ones go home) and 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm (when all children go home).

The kindergarten is a non-profit making organisation. It is a purpose-built centre situated beside the Islamic Centre in Taita, Lower Hutt. It  boasts the multi-cultural and faith diversity and experiences of the teaching team. The staff come from all over the world with heritages from England, India, Maori, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Scotland and South Africa. This makes Haleema Kindergarten a wonderful place to work and learn as it brings together so many cultures under one roof.

At Haleema Kindergarten, your child will take their first steps in to the wider world where they can be nurtured and grow in confidence and skills. Here, they will make friends and build relationships.

We are an Islamic kindergarten incorporating strong Islamic values such as generosity, sharing, thankfulness, respect for others and the environment, into our everyday program.

Our teaching program is derived from the NZ Te Whariki and the Islamic curriculum.

We look forward to meeting you and your children.
